Theater im KunstQuartier
Since March 2010 the “Theater im KunstQuartier” (Theatre in the Printing House) has been the location of the drama and stage directing department of the Mozarteum University. The architect Erich Wagner transformed the former factory building of the Salzburg Printing House into a theatre and gave the proscenium stage a spacious dimension by taking down the walls and introducing arcades. The auditorium with seats for an audience of 140 is remarkable because of its multi-functionality. For instance the stage, which is 10 x 10 metres can also be transformed into an arena stage to be played in the round.Access to the Theater in der Druckerei for the public is from Bergstrasse No. 12 or through the gate at Paris-Lodron Strasse 2a (opposite the Hotel am Mirabellplatz).
The theatre can also be hired for functions not related to the Mozarteum from the University Mozarteum.
