Student mobility with Erasmus+
With Erasmus+, students can spend up to twelve months per study cycle (Bachelor, Master and PhD) at a partner institution in another European country. Courses taken abroad can be accredited for the current study programme upon return.-
Erasmus+ is the European Union's most successful programme in the field of education. It promotes mobility and cross-border cooperation in higher education.
Experience gained abroad is a valuable enrichment for both professional and personal development. Getting to know foreign cultures also promotes the understanding of one's own tradition and culture.

General Requirements- Applicants must be regular students of the Mozarteum University Salzburg
- Students must have completed at least two semesters at their home university by the time they start their Erasmus+ study period

Erasmus+ partner institutions
Up to three preferred institutions can be indicated in the application.
Important! Applicants should inform themselves about the courses offered and their compatibility with their current degree programme.
The duration of a study stay abroad varies depending on the university. The minimum duration is three months and the maximum duration for a study stay is 12 months.
An Erasmus+ stay that begins in the summer semester cannot be extended for the following winter semester.

- Completion of courses relevant to studies abroad
- Theses (BA/MA/Diploma/Doctoral theses)
- A study visit is only possible at an Erasmus+ partner institution of the Mozarteum University. Up to three desired institutions can be indicated in the application
- Important! Applicants should inform themselves independently about the courses offered at the partner institutions and their compatibility with the current curriculum
- Internship
- Compulsory or voluntary internships relevant to or complementary to the course of study
- Company to be chosen by the student; freely selectable within Erasmus+ programme countries
- EU-Institutions and EU-Agencies are excluded.
- Graduate Internship
- Up to a maximum of 12 months after graduation
- Counts towards the funding period of the previous study cycle
- Application: still during studies; deadline for submission: 6 weeks before graduation at the latest
- Start only after completion of studies and exmatriculation
- Short-Term Mobility
- Combination of physical mobility + virtual component
- For students/interns who cannot complete long-term mobility / virtual component obligatory
- For doctoral students and post-docs: virtual component recommended, not mandatory
- Eligible physical stay abroad: 5-30 days

The Erasmus+ grant is based on living expenses in the respective host country. Current allowance rates can be found on the OeAD website. This is not a full scholarship, but a grant towards increased mobility costs.
Various additional grants are available for students with children, for students with disabilities and for Green Travel.
The payment is processed by the International Relations’ Office at the University Mozarteum Salzburg.
Study grant recipients can additionally receive a grant for a scholarship abroad. More information on this can be found on the scholarship office's webpage. -
Recommended guideline value for ECTS: 30 ECTS points per semester.
Minimum required for the Erasmus+ grant:
- Up to 5 months: minimum 3 ECTS points per month (6 semester hours)
- 6 to 10 months: minimum 3 ECTS points per month (12 semester hours)
Requirements for MA New Music:
- 12 months in Bern or Dresden: 60 ECTS

The Erasmus+ Programme's Online Language Support (OLS) helps participants to acquire language skills. Students whose main language of instruction is available in OLS must take an online assessment before the start and just before the end.
You can apply for financial support for a language course from the International Relations’ Office of the Mozarteum University. The language course can be chosen freely and can also be a preparatory course. -
Students interested in an Erasmus+ study visit should read the detailed checklist carefully to inform themselves about the application process.
Application deadlines
Applications for the following academic year (winter and summer semester) must be submitted to the International Office of the Mozarteum University by:- 15th January: Basel, Switzerland
- 15th February: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Great Britain, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary
- 15th March: Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal and Slovenia
e.g. an application for the summer semester in Sweden must be submitted by 15th February in the previous year.

- Letter of recommendation from the teacher of the main subject
- Recordings of three-four works of various styles via links (instrumental subjects and singing), video recordings via links (drama, conducting and dance educational theory), Portfolio as a single PDF (stage design, art and craft educational theory)

- Proof of successful course achievement / Transcript of records (for Master’s degree courses a Bachelor certificate has to be submitted)
