Symphony Orchestra of the University Mozarteum
The Mozarteum University Symphony Orchestra consists of students from the Mozarteum University who, while they are still studying, have the opportunity to acquire important experience in playing in an orchestra. Renowned conductors such as Bernhard Paumgartner, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Michael Gielen, Peter Schneider, Gerd Albrecht, Andre Previn, Mario Venzago and Dennis Russell Davies have offered decisive momentum for the artistic development of the orchestra. The orchestra has performed during the Salzburg Kulturtage, at the Salzburg Festival, in the Konzerthaus in Vienna as well as in various European music venues. Furthermore it has become a tradition for the orchestra to perform one concert during the Mozart Week.
Hans Graf, head of the department of conductor training at the Mozarteum University has been music director of the orchestra since October 2013.
